A Pair of Warm Socks or Canned Food can Help

Yes it’s the most wonderful time of the year, but not so much for too many folks.

This past year has been hard and many people have lost jobs and are struggling.  One of the greatest gifts you can give is to give something to someone in need.  Even the littlest things can mean so much and make a difference.

Warm socks, coats, scarves and gloves are always needed by homeless shelters. Canned goods and dry foods such as pasta are always in demand doe the food banks. Organizations such as the Salvation Army and Police Departments usually have toy drives.  Angel Trees, rounding up at the grocery store to help give meals, there are a thousand different ways to give and make a difference.

Don’t forget our furry friends either!  Animal shelters are in need of dry clean newspaper, extra food and other pet supplies – call your local humane association to find our what they need most.

Our service men and women also need to be remembered during the holidays, cards and letters can be sent – just check with your local service branch.  And older people who have no one always appreciate cards.

Share your merry with someone else, it will warm your heart and make your season even brighter!
